Welcome to the 2017 Real Estate Trends Conference website! As a masters graduate of the VCU’s Kornblau Real Estate Program, I am honored to serve as this year’s Conference Chair along with Duffy Myrtetus as Co-Chair.  It has been wonderful to see the Conference growth over the past 28 years, starting from 17 attendees to an event that over 1200 real estate industry leaders attended.  The Conference has become the key networking event for anyone in the Richmond metropolitan region and leads the discussion of trends that will impact our businesses in the coming year.

This year, we are excited to announce that Elliot Eisenberg, Ph.D. – the Bowtie Economist will be our keynote speaker.  Dr. Eisenberg is a nationally acclaimed economist and described as a “speaker specializing in making the arcana and minutia of economics fun, relevant and educational.”  Check-out his website, econ70.com, and sign-up for his daily blog.  Our second speaker is Mr. Steve Weikal, Head of Industry Relations at the MIT Center for Real Estate. Mr. Weikal will explore emerging trends in technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc., impacting commercial real estate markets including office, retail, industrial and multi-family

As a reminder to attendees, the Conference is not only networking and great speakers, it is an event that raises money for the Kornblau Real Estate Program and directly benefits the students through scholarships and unique educational opportunities.  The Conference also provides attendees the opportunity to meet the current students and identify potential candidates for mentoring, internships and/or full-time employees.

The program is on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. If you would like to register, follow the “Registration” link above. You won’t want to miss it! We hope that you will consider joining our growing list of sponsors. To learn more about our sponsorship opportunities and to see past sponsors, follow the “Sponsors” link above.

Holly Law Eve
